Learning to play golf at a young age can not only be very enjoyable but give you a significant advantage compared to those that learn later in life. Bad habits form easily if you start to play golf with no instruction and these bad habits can remain with you forever. Those who learn the fundamentals early will find that improving their golf game will come easier later in life.
At the Sandringham Golf Academy (SGA) we have a Junior Program that caters for all ages and skill levels. The Junior Academy will run in conjunction with school terms throughout the year, with term 3 running as a 10 week program. All parts of the game will be covered during the term and will be taught in a safe, enjoyable environment. The qualified PGA Professionals at the Sandringham Golf Academy (SGA) look forward to helping your kids with their golf. In addition the Sandringham Golf Academy (SGA) Junior Program has implemented the Pump Golf Program. This program takes students through different levels of skills testing to monitor improvement and keeps them interested throughout learning the game of golf.
Pump Golf is a program endorsed by the PGA. Each Child receives a Golf Passport containing information on rules and etiquette. It also has a skills test component which has three levels to progress through, Each child receives a certificate once the level has been completed
It is not unusual to see kids as young a 3 swinging clubs and enjoying learning to play golf. Parents are encouraged to participate and enjoy the learning process with their kids. Once your children are strong enough to stand up, hold a club and are able to take instruction they can enjoy learning the fundamentals of the game of golf.

THE JUNIOR GOLF ACADEMY HAS 4 LEVELS FOR THE JUNIORS TO PROGRESS THROUGH:

All parts of the game will be covered during the term and will be taught in a safe, enjoyable environment. The Junior Academy has 4 levels for juniors to progress through:
Little Tackers
For juniors 8 years and under where parents are encouraged to be involved. Progress from this level to Level 1 will be when the junior is 8 years of age or at a skill level the SGA coach feels is appropriate to move up to
Level 1.

Level 1
For juniors over the age of 8 who have never played golf before or have only just begun to play. They may have had only a small amount of tuition or exposure to on course play.
Level 2
For juniors who have progressed through or demonstrate a skill level beyond Level 1. These juniors may already have a club handicap or play regularly on the golf course.
Level 3
For juniors who have progressed through or demonstrate a skill level beyond Level 2.
